Symptoms of a panic attack

A panic disorder is characterized by recurring panic attacks without there being a reason for it. These panic attacks are associated with at least four of the following symptoms:

  • The fear of dying
  • The feeling that you are looking at the world from a distance
  • Cold shivers
  • A tingling or numb feeling all over your body
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • An unpleasant feeling on the chest
  • Shortness of breath
  • The feeling that you get stifled
  • Vibrate
  • Sweating
  • Palpitations

If you experience some of these symptoms, you might have had a panic or anxiety attack. Don’t panic about this, because they are not very harmful by themselves. However, it is something you don’t want to accept as a usual occurrence in your life, because mentally and physically it can be very exhausting.

If you feel like this is more than you can handle alone and you don’t know what to do, consult a doctor or psychologist.
